PGA Tour wife shares texts that show she had no faith in her husband making the cut—until he did

Travel is tricky for PGA Tour pros. Especially PGA Tour couples. Especially PGA Tour couples with a kid and a dog. So it makes sense that Jessica Hadwin wanted to make arrangements ASAP with Adam Hadwin on his way to missing the cut at this week’s Farmers Insurance Open. There was just one problem: Adam Hadwin didn’t miss the cut.

Of course, making the cut is never an actual problem. But it appears Jessica didn’t have much faith in her guy getting it done as he finished out his second round at Torrey Pines’ North Course on Thursday. (The PGA Tour smartly went to a Saturday finish this week to avoid Sunday’s NFL championship games.)

But with a closing birdie—on a tough 486-yard par 4, no less—Adam made the cut on the number. And then we assume he turned on his phone to see these hysterical back-to-back texts from Jessica.

“Oh nevermind. Nice birdie finish lol.” Great stuff. Damn straight that was a nice birdie finish!

And good job by Jessica. She puts Adam on blast enough for things like ill-advised comments to attempts at “love poems” so it’s nice to see she can poke fun of herself as well. Although we would have loved to see what Adam texted back.
